Green Building Defined

Green buildings seek to use land and energy efficiently, conserve water and other resources, improve indoor and outdoor air quality, and increase the use of recycled and renewable materials.

They represent the future of construction.

As such, we at Buesing Corp., have taken the initiative to be environmentally responsible contractors. Just some of the environmentally-friendly services we offer include renewable energy, solar and wind, and concrete recycling.

Defining a Green Building

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) defines green building as:

“Green building is the practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and [finally] deconstruction. This practice expands and compliments the classical design concerns of an economy, utility, durability, and comfort. Green building is also known as sustainable or high performance building.”

Why Go Green?

  1. Cost Effectiveness: Green buildings can save you money. While your initial investment might be a bit more expensive than if you had the building constructed using more traditional materials, a green building will produce savings greater than 10 times the initial investment, according to the California Sustainable Building Task Force.
  2. Energy Consumption: The efficiency in which environmentally conscious homes, and other structures work has the potential to lead to drastic reductions in energy consumption, thus lowering your energy bills to within your comfort zone. When selecting materials, be sure to select high-quality, and highly insulated materials.
  3. Increased Property Values: With energy costs on the rise, the low energy costs and easy maintenance of this construction makes for lower vacancy rates and higher property values, in both residential and commercial real estate. In fact, many property hunters list environmentally friendly as their number one must have, when in search of their ideal home.
