Project Description

The Hospice of the Valley on 16th Street in central Phoenix, Arizona, is the group's newest not-for-profit, community-based health care services facility.  The expansion of the building included a five-story below-grade parking structure over 45 foot deep, of which Buesing Corp. was hired to excavate and shore.  This was the first project in 15 years where Buesing Corp. used a conveyer system to transport all the excavated material out of the hole directly into trucks at the surface level.  This technique provided maximum productions at the lower depths and helped keep dirt off the roads while limiting hazardous dust pollution.

  • 60,000 cubic yards of excavation and export
  • 40,000 square feet of soil nail shoring
  • 35,000 square feet of shotcrete finish wall
